BIOGRAPHY
Since her debut, Amélie, a French-speaking Swiss author, composer and performer, has carved out her own path by shaking up the codes. After studying at the École de Jazz et Musique Actuelle in Lausanne, she arrived in Paris with her demo under her arm and her audacity slung over her shoulder. She didn't hesitate to knock on the doors of producers she admired, sometimes in the rain, until someone agreed to open the door for her. Her determination paid off: she recorded her first album with Vincent-Marie Bouvot (producer for Zazie, Florent Pagny, Julie Zenatti). Released in 2013, this opus propelled her onto stages throughout French-speaking Switzerland with more than 60 concerts and a single, "Up & Down", broadcast on La 1ère, Option Musique, LFM and Radio Swiss Pop.
Amélie then continued her musical quest by opening up to a more international pop. With her second album "Oise de nuit", she flew to the United States, performing in New York, Los Angeles and Washington, before conquering Romania. This album, born in her home studio, came to life with the help of Xavier Dromard (Brigitte, Tarja Turunen) and Jan Pham Huu Trii (guitarist of Calogero, Julien Clerc).
Her latest project, "L'Esquisse", an acoustic EP released in 2022, highlights her strength: alone with her piano, her machines bring out a raw and sincere energy. She then tours with this show that mixes intimacy and power.
The following year, Amélie was chosen to represent Switzerland on a tour of southern Africa (South Africa, Mozambique, Zimbabwe) to promote the French-speaking world. She also shared her journey and her unusual choices on the show Drôle d'époque on RTS, where she spoke for an hour about her musical and personal experiences.
She's making her big comeback at the end of 2024, starting with the release of her brand new single "I Don't Know", discover the clip filmed at the Montreux Palace here.
